The Traditional Muku-kitae Forging Method

The sword showcased here has been meticulously crafted using the traditional Muku-kitae forging method. Crafted from 1060 high carbon steel, the blade has undergone a clay tempering process, resulting in a hardness of 55 HRC. The hamon, or temper line, has been authentically created through this tempering process, rather than being wire brushed or printed.

The grip features a real ray skin wrap, secured with a black cotton cord, providing a comfortable and secure hold. The edge has been hand-honed to an extremely sharp finish. The tsuba, fuchi, and kashira are made of steel, while the habaki is crafted from brass.

The sword can be disassembled for easy care and display, with dual bamboo mekugi (pegs) securing the hardwood handle. The hardwood scabbard has a high-quality piano paint finish, adding to the sword's overall elegance.

Included with the sword is a black cotton storage/carry bag and a Musashi certificate of authenticity. Customers are advised to check the Musashi engraving on the seppa (spacer) to ensure the authenticity of the product, as counterfeit items should be avoided.
